Frequently asked questions:

•   How do I find the local trades person I require?

You have two options here. Firstly you can visit our trade directory page where you will find an A-Z directory of all the trade categories we have listed on our site. From there once the category has been selected you can view a list of the tradespeople registered in that category.

Secondly you can use our search function. Here you can search either key words (eg. window cleaner) or you may just search for the name of the person or company.

The tradespersons’ contact phone number will be shown within their details, but their email will be hidden. This is to protect them from spam. If you wish to contact them by email you can use the ‘send message to listing owner’ box, which is shown underneath their page. You will need to either log in or register a new account to use this feature.

•   How do I add my trade listing to the site?

To add your trade or service to our directory pages, simply navigate to the ‘submit your trade’ page. From there, you will be asked to login or to register as a new user. Once this is completed, you may then access the ‘submit listing’ form. Here you will be able to set up your listing and choose which categories you would like to be listed under, while also setting up your chosen payment method. After the form is completed and submitted we will check and proof read the details before we publish the listing to our site, usually within hours.

•   What if the trade or service i’m offering isn’t listed as one of the named categories?

If you can’t find the category which best suits your trade or service please tell us using the ‘contact us‘ form. We will then be able to create a new category for the directory for you to list under.

•   How much does it cost to list my trade or service?

To list a trade or service under a single category on the directory pages would cost from just £2 per month. If you would like it listed under more than one category, subsequent categories will be charged from 10p each (depending on which payment plan you have chosen).

•   Can I list my trade or service on the site if I don’t live in Swanage?

We only accept listings from tradespeople in Swanage and nearby surrounding areas (within a 5 mile radius). In certain circumstances we will also accept listings from tradespeople who live further away, but their trade would need to be based in Swanage- this would be down to the website owner to decide.
